The Philadelphia Phillies lose 9-3 to the Atlanta Braves on Opening Day, as their bullpen blows a two run lead.

Phillies starting pitcher Zack Wheeler pitched six scoreless innings with five strikeouts and no walks. Left fielder Brandon Marsh put the Phillies up with a two-run home run.

The Phillies bullpen gave up 9 runs over the final three innings, allowing 8 hits and walking five batters.

Offensively, the Phillies only mustered 5 hits. Alec Bohm had two of them. Phillies hitters struck out 15 times in a pathetic performance.

The Braves offense was led by Orlando Arcia and Michael Harris II with 3 hits each.

Braves starter Spencer Strider gaves 2 runs over five innings while striking out 8. The bullpen shut down the Phillies over the final 4 innings.
