Bryce Harper had two hits and two RBIs in the Philadelphia Phillies 6-3 win over the Colorado Rockies on Friday in Denver.
Both Alec Bohm and Kyle Schwarber homered for the Phillies. Matt Strahm (3-3) pitched a scoreless inning of relief and Craig Kimbrel struck out three in the ninth inning to record his fourth save.
Phillies starter Taijuan Walker was pitching well until the Rockies got to him in the sixth inning.
Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto left Friday night’s game against the Rockies at Coors Field for a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning after injuring his right (throwing) hand two innings earlier when he slid headfirst into third.
“I jammed it into the bag and then the bag popped up and landed on my finger,” Realmuto said. “It kind of bent it backward.”
Phillies left-handed pitcher Ranger Suárez, healed from a left elbow strain, will make his season debut Saturday night against the Rockies.
