The Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 3-1 in 11 innings to complete the first sweep by a visiting team at Tropicana Field this season.
The Phillies have now 12 straight road games. The are one win behind the franchise record. With the win, the Phillies are now a season high 8 games over 500.
Phillie s first baseman Darick Hall got things started with a solo home run in the fifth inning. The Rays Isaac Paredes tied it up in the bottom of the fifth with his 15th homer.
Phillies starter Cristopher Sánchez gave up one run and four hits in six innings. The bullpen gave a dominant performance, as 5 different pitchers held the Rays hitless.
Kyle Schwarber and Trea Turner had RBI singles in the 11th inning to give the Phillies a 3-1 victory.
Phillies designated hitter Bryce Harper went 0 for 5 to end his stretch of multiple-hit games at five.
The Phillies are now 47-39 on the season. They face the Miami Marlins on Friday night, with Zack Wheeler (7-4) going for the Phillies and Sandy Alcantara (3-7) for the Marlins.
