Phillies-Astros Game 3: Rain expected

Written by Tony Ghaul

The Philadelphia Phillies are set to host the Houston Astros for Game 3 of the World Series on Monday, but there’s a real chance the first pitch will be delayed. Rain is on the forecast for Monday evening.

The grounds crew was seen rolling out the tarp more than three hours in advance of the scheduled first pitch, as per Danielle Lerner. The tarp came out at Citizens Bank Park at around 5:00 p.m. EST, with first pitch set for 8:07 p.m.

MLB has not yet made an announcement of an official delay. All involved parties would desperately hope to avoid a postponement, but whether that occurs is entirely up to the weather.

The Phillies are starting Noah Syndergaard for World Series Game 3. He is facing Lance McCullers.

If this game ends up getting postponed, it could have a significant impact on the series.
