The Philadelphia Phillies have a need for a closer with Craig Kimbrel set to become a free agent and with the way he struggled in the playoffs.

The Athletic ‘s Jim Bowden has linked the Phillies to the San Diego Padres superstar closer Josh Hader.

Hader had a dominant season in 2023. He had 33 saves with a 1.28 ERA and 85 strikeouts in 56.1 innings pitched.

Adding a dominant closer like Hader, would give the Phillies a dynamic pair of flame throwing lefties in their bullpen.

Hader will be best available relief pitcher on the market. Bowden said, that Hader wants to be the highest paid closer in baseball.

The Phillies could really use a big time closer, besides the need to add starting pitching. Josh Hader would be a awesome addition to the Phillies.
