Philadelphia Eagles To Trade Zach Ertz To One Of These Two Teams; Richard Sherman To Return To The Seattle Seahawks?

In other NFL news, are the Philadelphia Eagles going to trade tight end Zach Ertz? ESPN Analyst Jeremy Fowler commented on the rumor earlier this week and had the following to say:

Talks on a potential Zach Ertz trade have been ongoing for quite some time but fairly quiet of late. At least three TE-needy teams have looked into this. Eagles have made clear they won’t part for nothing in return, making a release unlikely. Things could pick back up this week.”

Rumor has it, that the most likely options for the Eagles to trade Ertz to would be either the Buffalo Bills or the Jacksonville Jaguars as both teams could use a strong tight end. Ertz would make for a great offensive weapon for either Josh Allen or Trevor Lawrence.

In other NFL news, veteran Pro Bowl cornerback Richard Sherman has been rumored to possibly returning where his career started with the Seattle Seahawks. After spending the past three years with the San Francisco 49ers, Sherman is presently a free agent who is in the process of determining where his next landing spot will be. There is also a possibility that Sherman may re-sign with the 49ers, but given what team President John Lynch had to say about his and Sherman’s communication or lack thereof, it does not sound promising.

“We haven’t really been in communication,” Lynch said. “We do text from time to time. Nothing about football. Like I said, as long as he wants to play — I think Sherm’s being patient and kind of waiting it out for the right situation, and we’ll see where that goes.”

According to OddsShark, it seems like Seattle is the heavily favored future home for Sherman for the upcoming 2021 season.

Sherman also had the following to say about a potential return to San Francisco:

“There’s always a chance it could end up working back in the Bay, and I head back that way,” Sherman said on ESPN’s First Take. “That’s another place I’m really comfortable going. Obviously, I know the staff, know the team well. Just spent time there and would be ecstatic if something happened there.”
