Paul George Believes Wilson Basketballs Are Causing Shooting Slumps (Video)

The official basketball of the NBA has been Spalding for some time now but after 37 years they have changed the new game ball from Spalding to Wilson.

If you are reading this, you are probably thinking the exact same thing I was thinking, isn’t the ball the same? It’s still the same color, same size, and shape. It may be the same to us but to the players, it has changed the game.

CJ McCollum, the president of the NBPA, and Portland Trailblazer, had some words about the new basketball transition.

At first, I did not believe what the players were complaining about but if you look at the numbers, the NBA is on pace for their worst 3PT percentage since 1998-1999. That’s some crazy stuff right there. It’s crazy to think that a certain basketball can do that to these professional players but something does indeed seem to be wrong here with these new basketballs. It’s something to keep an eye on as the year goes on.
