Padres Prospect Arrested in Georgia

The Padres released a statement stating “we were recently notified of the arrest of Luis Campusano in his hometown of Augusta, Ga. this past weekend. We are gathering information and have been in contact with MLB and the local authorities.”

Campusano was arrested on felony marijuana charges in Georga Saturday night, per Kevin Acee. He was in possession of 79 grams worth when the police pulled him over. He’s facing up to a decade long sentence.

Anything in Georgia more than 28.35 grams is a felon, despite 79 grams being a misdemeanor in California. He has been released on bond at five grand and is awaiting a court hearing. He is the number two prospect per position players in the organization.
