San Diego Padres right-handed pitcher Joe Musgrove suffered a fractured left big toe in a weight room accident Monday, as per The Athletic.

The 30-year-old Musgrove is part of the star trio atop San Diego’s rotation alongside Yu Darvish and Blake Snell.

Musgrove went 10-7 with a 2.93 ERA and 184 strikeouts last season and was named an All-Star for the first time.

In three post season starts, he had a 2.89 ERA and won a winner-take-all Game 3 of the National League Wild Card Series against the Mets with seven one-hit innings.

The severity of the fracture and the recommended treatment aren’t yet clear, but toe fractures typically require 4-7 weeks of recovery.

Musgrove is one of the more important players on the Padres. This injury is definitely a significant one.
