Packers place franchise tag on Davante Adams; keeping the band together in Green Bay

Written by Doug Rush

The Green Bay Packers decided to double down on 2022 and beyond.

Not only are they keeping Aaron Rodgers with a mega contract extension coming soon, they are also keeping his favorite target, as the Packers are placing the franchise tag on Davante Adams.

The Packers can now work to sign Adams to a long-term deal with the franchise tag, which is worth up to $18 million for the 2022 season.

Adams was thought to want to follow Rodgers wherever he follows, and from the looks of it, it will be staying put in Green Bay.

Adams had 123 catches for 1553 yards and 11 touchdowns in Green Bay during the 2021 season.
