Blizzard and Nintendo have worked very closely in the past, what with Diablo III: Eternal Collection performing very well on the Nintendo Switch. So why should the collaboration stop there? It’s a question of when, not if, the two companies would be working together again. And now we’ve got a pretty good idea of what the companies just might be working on.

A new post over on Amazonhas revealed a product in the works over at PowerA, in the form of a protection case for Nintendo Switch. Normally, that’s not a big deal in itself. But it’s WHAT kind of case that’s important here. It’s a case based on the hit franchise Overwatch.

Now, the game has already been released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. But it’s not out for Nintendo Switch. In fact, it hasn’t even been hinted at for Nintendo Switch just yet. But considering that Diablo III has been perfectly ported to the system, there’s no question that Blizzard and Nintendo could make Overwatch work on the Switch, right? And that would no doubt bring in big income for both companies.

You can see the image of the case below, taken from Resetera.

Here are the details on the case, which currently doesn’t have a release date:

  • Sturdy outer shell with rubberized handle and durable dual zipper pulls
  • Molded interior fits Console in handheld mode, and features felt lining plus zippered mesh storage
  • Built-in padded screen-protector flap includes storage for nine game cards
  • Officially Licensed by Nintendo and blizzard entertainment
  • Two-year limited warranty – register at PowerA.Com

There’s also a product description:

“Take your Nintendo Switch on the go with this sturdy compact case Designed precisely to fit the Console in handheld mode. Inside you’ll find a felt lining, Overwatch logo Tag, screen-protector flap with storage for nine game cards, and zippered mesh storage pocket. This portable case with Overwatch design gives you the freedom to have fun on the go with your Nintendo Switch. Wherever. Whenever.”

So now the question is…when will Nintendo and/or Blizzard announce this port of Overwatch for the Switch? PAX West this weekend? BlizzCon this November? Somewhere in-between? There was a rumor that a Nintendo Direct would take place next month, and Diablo III was announced around this time last year by the companies. So…your guess is as good as ours.

We’ll let you know as soon as something’s made official!
