ON THIS DAY IN SPORTS: University of North Texas Football SHOCKS The University of Arkansas #GMG

Three years ago to the day, the boys in green went and shocked the world. During the 1st quarter Head Coach Seth Littrell told his return man to be ready, which gave him the heads up on what was about to go down. The Mean Green football team went into Fayetteville and handled their business. Going down into SEC territory and just having the BALLS on him to call a gadget play that ultimately led them to win the game.

I love seeing these mid-major schools come in and just shock the nation. UNT will always hold a place in my heart since I did attend it for a year and live in the area. It’s just great to see the reaction from the city of Denton. This game meant more to the fans than most of the players will ever understand and will go down in history as one of the brightest moments in the programs history.

The bars were lit up just like it was the first week of classes. I mean it wasn’t like we barely squeaked by, we fucking DOG WALKED THEM. To us students this wasn’t just a win but a statement that the Mean Green were not to be trifled with. Beers were flowing and honestly there wasn’t anything getting in the way of the student population going as absolutely bonkers as they could. WE partied as if we were kings and I can only thank The University of North Texas football team for that.

North Texas Football 💯 on Twitter: "And that's your ballgame! Final score North Texas 44, Arkansas 17. #GMG #BeatArkansas #TheMGStandard… "
