As what we reported a few days ago, Edmonton Oilers forward Colby Cave was placed in a medically-induced coma due to a cyst in the brain. However, it is sad to report now that Cave has passed away from a brain bleed.

He was just 25 years old.

Cave was airlifted to a hospital just this past Tuesday to have emergency surgery to remove a colloid cyst that was causing pressure to his brain.

Though he made most of his hockey in the American Hockey League (AHL), Cave’s NHL states include four goals, five assists, and a career -4 rating.

He was survived by his wife, Emily, his family and friends.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Cave and his family at this time.
