Ohio State starting QB Kyle McCord has entered the transfer portal. He just finished his first year as the starter and led the Buckeyes to a 11-1 record.

Today is the first day that the transfer portal opened for the winter. McCord has been at Ohio State for three seasons.

This news comes a day after Head Coach Ryan Day would not commit on McCord as the starter and said practices in the coming weeks could determine which quarterbacks would play in the Cotton Bowl against Missouri.

McCord threw for 3,170 yards with 24 touchdown passes and six interceptions. He won the competition for the starting QB job over Devon Brown.

It looks like Day is using McCord as the scapegoat for Ohio State’s 34-20 loss to arch rivals Michigan. Day has lost three games to the Wolverines.

McCord completed 18 of 30 passes for 270 yards and two touchdowns. He threw an interception on a last-minute go-ahead touchdown drive.
