Ohio State Head Coach Ryan Day has been pretty successful as Buckeyes man in charge. He has 5 losses in 4 seasons, but two of those have come against hated rival Michigan. Day has lost the last two years to them. Michigan has outscored Ohio State 86-50 in those meetings.

The Ohio State program is in a weird place. Is this the ceiling under Ryan Day? They have officially slid behind Michigan. With USC coming over, divisions being done, in a 12 team playoff its only going to get harder. Day has one Playoff win and zero national titles to show for it, plus two straight losses to Michigan.

Day has the brunt of the criticism on social medi after Ohio State’s 45-23 loss at home. The Buckeyes were favored to win and the Wolverines superstar RB Blake Corum was severely limited by a knee injury.

Fans and experts questioned Day’s decision-making not only in terms of defensive alignment, but also offensive play-calling, as star QB C.J. Stroud was not permitted to take the game into his own hands for the most part. He was also crushed for twice deciding to punt on fourth down around midfield with the Buckeyes trailing 24-20. Even Stroud expressed his displeasure, per Pat Forde of Sports Illustrated.

Day has won some big games at Ohio State, but he has perhaps lost just as many, including a CFP National Championship Game and two contests against fierce rival Michigan. No National Championships and losing to your hated rival, just may put Ryan Day on the hot seat.
