Official Cause of Death For Two L’Anse Area Teens Revealed

WLUC-TV6 has reported that the Baraga County Sheriff’s Department received their toxicology tests back, confirming the causes of death for two teenage boys on February 17.

Baraga County Sheriff Rick Johnson stated that in the reports that 17-year-olds Dylan Roberts (of L’Anse) and Christopher Turpeinen (of Pelkie) both died from carbon monoxide poisoning, while inside a running vehicle.

The third person in the vehicle, 17-year-old Hunter Pelon of Baraga, is currently recovering from the accident, after also being found unconscious inside the vehicle.

Pelon was airlifted to a Green Bay hospital afterwards. However, just three days later, Pelon woke up from a coma after doctors believed that she would not survive.
