The Davey O’Brien Award is the oldest and most prestigious college honor given to quarterbacks in college football, and it honored Notre Dame signal-caller Drew Pyne on Monday.

Each week, the Davey O’Brien Award names a “great 8” list for the best quarterback performances from the previous week, and Pyne’s performance against BYU, earned him a spot on the list.

In a 28-20 victory for Notre Dame over BYU, Pyne completed 22 of 28 passes for 262 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. He has been Notre Dame’s starting QB for the last three weeks, leading the Irish to victories in each game.
