During the 2022 NCAA Men’s Basketball national championship game between the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Kansas Jayhawks, one key player rose to the occasion and left everything on the floor—figuratively and literally.
Late in the second half, Tar Heels reserve guard Puff Johnson was seen live throwing up on the court as the Jayhawks were about to go to offense.
Just before that, Johnson exploded off North Carolina’s bench with 11 points.
CBS reporter Tracy Wolfson eventually said during the broadcast that Puff ‘took a blow to the stomach’ and didn’t feel right afterwards. Luckily, he was able to make his way back to the Carolina bench okay.
However the effort from Johnson was not enough as North Carolina would go on to lose to Kansas, 72-69, after leading by 15 at halftime in the National Championship.
