NMU Hockey’s ‘Puckheads’ Ask Fans to Wear Blue and Yellow in Honor and Support of Oxford High School

The Northern Michigan University (NMU) men’s hockey team will be facing off in a weekend series against the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs tomorrow night and Saturday night.

However for this Friday night, NMU hockey’s biggest fans, the ‘Puckheads,’ are reaching out to other fans and NMU students/alumni about a special themed night in honor of a recent tragedy at Oxford High School just a few days ago.

They are asking fans attending Friday’s game to wear blue and yellow in support of those affected .with the tragedy at the high school and the Oxford community.

“Many students at NMU are either from Oxford or surrounding areas and the tragic event that took place this past week has hit close to home for many,” NMU Puckheads said in the post above.

“Please join us in wearing Oxford’s colors in honoring the community and share this with your friends’s to spread the message.”

Face off for NMU’s Friday game against Minnesota-Duluth is set for 6:37 pm, same time as NMU’s Teddy Bear Toss game on Saturday.
