NMU Alumnus and U.P. Native Payton Muljo Signs Deal with USFL’s New Orleans Breakers

Written by Nate

An Upper Peninsula native and Northern Michigan University (NMU) football alumnus is set to make his mark in the newly established USFL.

In a press release tweet by NMU Athletics, Marquette native and former Wildcats offensive tackle, Payton Muljo, has inked a deal with the New Orleans Breakers. The deal is undisclosed at the moment.

Muljo joined the Wildcats football team in 2017, and played on the NMU offensive line for four seasons. In the 2018 season, he helped set a new school rushing record for the team.

Payton will join the Breakers upon its inaugural year of play with all their games being played in Birmingham, Alabama. New Orleans currently has a 4-2 record in the league this season.

On behalf of all of us at PSE and from all Yoopers in Michigan, good luck in the big leagues, Payton!
