Written by Tony Ghaul

Phillies Phillies right fielder Nick Castellanos raised a finger to his own dugout in celebration of a bloop double in the fourth inning of last night’s 4-1 win over the Miami Marlins.

At first glance, to the naked eye, it appears that Castellanos is flipping off his own dugout, but that’s not the case. He was actually raising his ring finger.

Castellanos cleared up the matter in a post game interview.

“Of course, it was the ring finger, man. Why would I give the middle finger to my teammates? I love them,” assured Castellanos.

Castellanos was letting his teammates that they’re playing for the World Series ring. He said that the gesture was a spur of the moment thing.

Castellanos had two doubles and a RBI in the NL Wild Card Series game 1 victory. He has had a bounce back season this year, after struggling in 2022.

For the 2023 season, Castellanos hit 29 home runs with 106 RBIs and. 272 batting average. He led the Phillies team in RBIs.
