The NFL suspended Buccaneers’ WR Mike Evans one game for Sunday’s unnecessary roughness with Saints’ CB Marshon Lattimore.
The Buccaneers receiver and Saints cornerback got into a brawl during the Week 2 game in New Orleans, which resulted in a 20-10 win for visiting Tampa Bay. Their animosity flared up in the early stages of the fourth quarter after Lattimore was seen getting in Tom Brady’s face.
Evans was quick to action against Lattimore, giving him a shoulder check that knocked him to the ground. (Evans has a significant size and height advantage at 6-5, 225 pounds, compared to Lattimore’s listed 6-0, 192 pounds). That shove nearly resulted in a brawl between the two teams and saw both players ejected from the game.
