The Washington Commanders really want to add a starting quarterback and have not been shy about trying to trade for one.
They apparently called the Kansas City Chiefs asking about Patrick Mahomes, which likely was a short phone call. The Commanders also tried to ask the Seattle Seahawks about Russell Wilson and were told no.
The Commanders are in need of an upgrade at quarterback given their starter from last year was Taylor Heinicke, who is more suited as a backup.
Washington does have the 11th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and it’s possible that they could use that pick on a quarterback as well; being that is if they don’t trade for one first or sign one in free agency.
