Four teams have met with Deshaun Watson. Four teams have submitted trade proposals to the Houston Texans.
However it seems that two teams have the upper hand for Watson: the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints.
Saints head coach Dennis Allen has been pushing the team to make the deal for Watson, as they don’t have a set quarterback with Jameis Winston a free agent and Taysom Hill considered a gadget player over an actual quarterback.
The Saints have been trying to clear out cap space this past week and have been able to do so with restructuring contracts and converting salaries into roster bonuses in order to fit Watson’s contract.
Meanwhile, if Atlanta does acquire Watson, they’d have to likely trade Matt Ryan, which would be easy to do since teams need quarterbacks;
