NFL DRAFT PROSPECT PROFILE: Travis Etienne

Written by SpaceGhostChedd

Next up in my series of prospect profiles leading up to the draft is the clear cut #1 running back, Mr. Travis Ettiene, JR. The ACC’s all-time leading rusher has been one of the most electric players in college football his entire career. Anytime he touches the rock he has the ability to take it to the house, both running the ball and catching passes out of the backfield. Off the rip, he clearly reminds me of Alvin Kamara.

It was surprising when he decided to come back for his senior year when he could’ve been drafted high last year, but he wanted to get his degree. The Clemson RB had a drop-off in production, going from over 1,600 rushing yards in both 2018 & 2019, and only accounting for 914 in 2020. However, he did have his best receiving year with 588 yards and still had 16 total TD’s (14 rushing, 2 receiving). Accounting for 1502 total yards from scrimmage and 16 total td’s ain’t no slouch. He will be the perfect weapon in today’s modern NFL offense. His only issue will be getting better at pass protection. If he can get that down then he’ll truly be a 3 down back in the league. Just imagining him on an high octane offense already seems scary to play against, especially when I already have PTSD from him tearing up my Canes.
