The year of 2021 has not been great for professional athletes. It seems like more athletes have passed away in 2021 than ever before in previous years. It doesn’t matter whether it’s the NFL, NHL, MLB or NBA, it seems like a couple times a week if not more there is a notice of an athlete passing away.

Tragedy most recently struck the New York Yankees when it was announced that former pitcher Dick Tidrow, and longtime member of the San Francisco Giants’ front office, has died. He was 74.

The Giants organization had the following to say on Tidrow’s passing:

“Our entire organization is heartbroken by the news of Dick’s passing,” Giants President and CEO Larry Baer said. “So much of our success over these past three decades is directly linked to Dick’s contributions. He will be truly missed by all of us and our thoughts are with Mari Jo and his entire family during this difficult time.”

In other New York Yankees need, ace pitcher Gerrit Coke recently commented on Clint Frazier and what a great player he is. Check out what he had to say on Frazier below.

( Frazier)is a good player. I don’t know how much control he has over the trade, but there’s always a little bit of gamesmanship going on in the clubhouses in this situation. With a player under control, that’s almost impossible to control, in my opinion. ‘Fraz’ just has to keep doing what he’s doing, keep his head down, keep hitting, and things are going to work out for him. Hopefully at some point he gets the opportunity to choose where he wants to play.”
