New England Patriots Sign New Quarterback; Cam Newton To Be Traded to Washington?

Quarterback controversy seems to be the primary storyline of the 2021 offseason for many NFL teams. The New England Patriots are no different as there has been a considerable amount of controversy as to who will be the starter come Week 1.

To further add to the controversy in New England, it was announced yesterday that the Patriots finally came to terms with 2021 first round draft pick Mac Jones. Jones signed a four year deal with New England totaling $15.5 million.

So what exactly does this mean for Cam Newton? Last year, Newton was the starting quarterback for the Patriots and did not exactly impress. Will Newton be starting this year, or will Mac Jones take over?

The assumption is that Newton will still be the starter at the beginning of the year, but lately there have been discussions of trade rumors involving Newton. The latest rumor has been that the Washington Football Team is interested in acquiring Newton from the Patriots.

Check out the video below to learn more about this possible trade scenario.
