Joe Judge didn’t stay out of work for too long, as he is returning to a familiar place he knows well.

On Tuesday, the New England Patriots have re-hired Judge as an offensive assistant, the team announced.

Judge spent the last two seasons as the head coach of the New York Giants, going 10-23 in that time before he was fired after the 2021 season.

Before going to the Giants, Judge was an assistant under Bill Belichick and the Patriots from 2014-2019, serving under several roles, including special teams coordinator.

It’s unclear what kind of assistant Judge will be on the offense, although the Patriots are without an offensive coordinator with Josh McDaniels leaving to take the Las Vegas Raiders head coaching job.
