University of Nebraska football program was a dominant force in College Football. From 2017 – 2022 they have really struggled.
Former Carolina Panthers Head Coach Matt Rhule has been hired to resurrect the program. His first recruiting class looks pretty strong, but there is a lot of work to be done.
They have offered a scholarship to wide receiver and defensive back Tory Pittman III of Buffett Middle School. He is a eighth grader, who has yet to play a down of high school football.
Pittman, who is listed at 5-11, 165 pounds, is expected to attend Omaha Central High School next year. Former Nebraska stars Ahman Green and Calvin Jones also played for Omaha Central.
Pittman is the second eighth grader to have already received a football scholarship offer from the University of Nebraska.
Thompson (Ala.) QB Trent Seaborn lead the high school to a state title. He’s received offers from Ole Miss, Nebraska and Wisconsin.
Nebraska has to wait four years when these two kids actually graduate from high school for them to commit.
