NBA Trade Rumors: Rockets interested in trading John Wall to the Lakers for Russell Westbrook

Could Russell Westbrook be traded back to the Houston Rockets? It could be.

What’s even more crazier than the idea of Westbrook being traded from the Los Angeles Lakers back to the Houston Rockets is that Westbrook could be traded for John Wall.

What would be crazy is that it wouldn’t be the first time Wall and Westbrook were dealt for each other. Back on December 2 of 2020, the Rockets traded Westbrook to the Washington Wizards for Wall.

It hasn’t quite worked out with the Lakers and Westbrook since getting him over the summer from the Wizards on the day of the 2021 NBA Draft and now, the Lakers are in a need to move him.

Wall has yet to play in a single game for the Rockets due to a dispute over his role with the team; Houston wants him to be a bench player, whereas Wall wants to start.

If Wall wants to start, then this could be a situation where both teams could benefit from a change of scenery. Westbrook wanted out of Houston due to not being able to play alongside James Harden, who is now long gone.

With the trade deadline coming up in February 10, this could be the Lakers best chance to move Westbrook and get something of decent return that could help the team in Wall.
