NBA Trade Rumors: Proposing a Lakers, Wizards trade to send Bradley Beal to Los Angeles, Russell Westbrook back to DC

It’s been rumored that Russell Westbrook could be traded again, whether it be before the trade deadline or in the off-season.

The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t had the kind of success they had hoped for when they made the trade before the 2021 NBA Draft to acquire Russell Westbrook. Some wonder if the Lakers could benefit from a deal to send out Westbrook.

So here’s one with the same two teams; the Lakers and Washington Wizards, in which, Westbrook goes back to Washington.

Mayhe this was the trade the Lakers should have tried for all along. Beal is a prolific scorer for the Wizards and they are in the mix for the Eastern Conference playoffs.

However, Beal does have a player option at the end of the season, in which, if he exercises it, he leaves as a free agent and thenWizards could end up getting nothing for him.

This could be where making the deal with the Lakers could help, especially if the Lakers offer Talen Horton-Tucker and Malik Monk, plus two future first rounders, to go along with Westbrook.

It could be the way of the Lakers saying, “oops, we traded the wrong players, let’s have a do-over.”
