James Harden’s tenure in Brooklyn apparently will not be for very long if he has anything to say about it.
With the NBA trade deadline on Thursday, Harden is reportedly desperately trying to get traded out of New York and get a trade from his team, the Brooklyn Nets.
There’s been a lot of talk over the last week of a Harden for Ben Simmons deal between the Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers. The hold up has been over the other players involved.
Harden was dealt last year from the Houston Rockets to the Nets in a four-team deal involving the Cleveland Cavaliers and Indiana Pacers that saw Brooklyn trade four first round picks and four first round pick swaps to Houston to get Harden.
Many thought Brooklyn would have been the odds-on favorite to win the NBA Finals last season with Harden, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, but they fell short to the eventual champions in the second round, the Milwaukee Bucks.
With Brooklyn’s recent slide down the standings of the Eastern Conference, a shakeup of the team has been seen as needed and Harden may be the one to go, especially since he’s a pending free agent and may go elsewhere in the summer.
The question now remains; will Harden still be a member of the Nets after the trade deadline?
