The 2024 NBA trade deadline has passed and we thoroughly discussed the grades for each team’s transactions.

With everything in place for the second half of this season, here is part two of Prosportsextra’s grades for each significant transaction in this year’s trade deadline.

Trade 6:

OKC receive: 2028 1st rd pick swap

Mavs receive: Daniel Gafford

Wizards receive: Richaun Holmes, 2024 1st rd pick (least favorable from OKC, Clippers, Utah, Houston)

Grades – OKC: A, Mavs: A+, Wizards: A

OKC got their pick bumped from 2024 to 2028 as this year’s class is considered a weak one. The Mavs finally have a reliable backup/occasional starting center who could rebound and defend shots. Luka is happy about Gafford’s addition. The Wizards got a first-round pick out of Gafford. Everybody goes home happy.

Trade 7:

Knicks receive: Bojan Bogdanovic, Alec Burks

Pistons receive: Ryan Arcidiacono, Malachi Flynn, Evan Fournier, Quentin Grimes, two 2nd rds

Grades – Knicks: A+, Pistons: B-

Knicks are back and they are hungry for recognition. If they are healthy, they could make a run at Boston’s position late in the season. After holding out for Bogdanovic in the hopes of getting a massive haul, this was somewhat a disappointment for the Pistons. Grimes was definitely the highlight for them in that exchange.

Trade 8:

Thunder receive: Gordon Hayward

Hornets: Davis Bertans, Tre Mann, Vasilije Micic, draft compensation

Grades – Thunder: C, Hornets: B

This was a baffling trade for OKC. Although the three guys weren’t playing as much for them, this deal seems like an overpay for the often-injured Hayward. The Hornets have some good pieces going forward as they need some veteran presence on the team.

Trade 9:

Raptors receive: Kelly Olynyk, Ochai Agbaji

Jazz receive: Kira Lewis Jr., Otto Porter Jr., 2024 1st rounder

Grade – Raptors: C, Jazz: C

With another lost season on the horizon, it’s quite hard to gauge Toronto’s mindset here. Agbaji is young and has potential, but he’s no superstar. Olynyk coming home is a feel-good story, I guess? The Jazz may have overvalued Kira Lewis Jr. too much to make this deal.

Trade 10:

Pacers receive: Furkan Korkmaz, Marcus Morris Sr., three 2nd rds

Sixers receive: Buddy Hield

Grades – Pacers: A, Sixers: B

The Pacers won this trade. Even though Korkmaz and Morris might be waived or bought out, they still got three second-rounders out of Buddy Hield. Sixers are desperate for any help right now with Joel Embiid’s absence due to an MCL injury.
