NBA Recap – Mavs Losing Badly, Lakers Surging at the Right Time

The Lakers are finally surging and now boast a .500 record after tonight’s win vs Oklahoma City Thunder, 116-111. Anthony Davis had a monster stat line as he had 37 points and 15 rebounds to lead LA’s charge. OKC was led by the duo of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey, who both had 27 points for the losing team.

The Mavs continued their downfall as they fell to the lottery-bound Charlotte Hornets, 117-109. Luka Doncic paced the Mavs with 34 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists. PJ Washington shot the lights out with 28 points for the Hornets. The Mavs now fell out of the top 10 in the West and currently sit in the 11th seed.

The Golden State Warriors had a huge win over the Philadelphia Sixers, 120-112. Jordan Poole got hot late in the game, scoring 33 points to lead the Dubs. MVP candidate Joel Embiid scored 46 points but it wasn’t enough for the Sixers as he had minimal support from his teammates throughout the game.

The Sacramento Kings prove that they are one of the teams to watch out for as they triumphed against the Phoenix Suns, 135-127. The Chicago Bulls also won today, dominating the hapless Portland Trail Blazers, 124-96.

The Milwaukee Bucks dismantled the Utah Jazz, 144-116. Memphis is also surging as they blew out the lowly Rockets, 151-114. The Celtics, Wizards, and Raptors also posted wins today. This season has been exciting for fans as there is no consensus on who will win the title in June. Almost every team who will secure a playoff berth in April will have a chance to lift up the Larry O’Brien trophy at the end of the season.
