This is literally the hardest story that I’ve ever to had to type. A very sad situation happened in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in the small town of L’Anse.

The entire community of L’Anse has less than 2,000 people. It’s the town where I grew up and currently live. Words can’t express how terribly sorry I feel right now. It’s hard to type up this post. Typing something like this isn’t anything that I’m used to doing.

After multiple hours of seeing posts about the incident, I figured it’s time to post this and inform everyone before Tuesday‘s school day/workday.

The Baraga County Sheriff issued a statement today:

Please hold your loved ones close. Many families have been impacted by this tragic incident. When you’re in such a small town, things like this seem to never happen. Please pray for the third person to make it through this!

We send our thoughts, prayers and condolences to the families, friends, and entire community!

The L’Anse girls basketball team plays at home tonight and the students are asking that you wear your best “Yooper” outfit to honor the boys:
