On Saturday, Morocco became the first African nation to ever make it to the World Cup Semifinal Round when they defeated Ronaldo, Portugal to move on. The win also has Morocco carrying the flag further for the Arab nations at this World Cup.
The match was completed with a 1-0 result as a goal from Morocco’s Youssef En-Nesyri in the 42nd minute. Meanwhile, in what will likely be his final World Cup match, Cristiano Ronaldo was a sub for the second consecutive match in the 51st minute.
Morocco, who surprised everyone when they won Group F, has continued their cinderella run that not even the most insane Moroccan patriot could have seen coming.
Morocco’s World Cup Semifinal match will be against the defending champions, France, on Wednesday at 2pm eastern.
