The Minnesota Vikings may look to move on from four-time Pro Bowl RB Dalvin Cook in order to clear cap space, as per The Athletic.

Cutting Cook would save the Vikings $7,898,727 in much-needed cap space. They are currently close to 24 million over the cap.

Cook was the focal point of former Head Coach Mike Zimmer’s offense. Zimmer wanted to run the football and he leaned on Cook.

Under new Head Coach Kevin O’Connell in 2022, the Vikings were a pass-happy offense. Minnesota could move to a RB by committee.

The Vikings can reasonably move on from the Cook. They have an out in the extension that Cook signed. He is due $11 million in 2023, the third-most cash on the books for a RB, and is set to count $14.1 million against the Vikings’ salary cap.
