Minnesota Vikings Hall Of Famer Has Died

The year of 2021 has not been exceptionally well to professional athletes. For whatever reason, it seems like we have seen more athletes die in 2021 than ever before. Every week it seems like we are reporting on the loss of an athlete, whether it bein the NFL, NHL, NBA or MLB.

Unfortunately, the most recent sad news of an athlete passing comes from the Minnesota Vikings organization. It was announced on September 13th that former Minnesota Vikings center, Mick Tingelhoff had passed away. You can check out below all of Mick’s accomplishments, including his induction into the NFL Hall of Fame.

Fellow Minnesota Vikings Hall of Famer Fran Tarkenton had the privilege of inducting Tingelhoff into the Hall of Fame. He and Tingelhoff were the best of friends. Check out what Tarkenton had to say on his friend passing.

“I came to the Vikings a year before Mick, but we left at the same time. He was my guy,” Tarkenton said Saturday after learning the news. “He played 17 years, never missed a game, never missed a practice. Mick was my best friend by far.”
