Mike Clevinger Taken Off of San Diego’s Roster

Written by Jameus Mooney

Mike Clevinger, ace for the Padres, originally was not on their postseason roster. They got seemingly good news yesterday when he was tabbed the Game 1 starter for the NLDS.

Clevinger failed to make it out of the second inning in one piece, despite throwing scoreless baseball. He threw 22 pitches total. As seen above, he has now been replaced on their roster due to injury, thus making him unavailable should San Diego make it to the NLCS. An injury isn’t clear, but what was clear is that his velocity was down and that there is some cause for concern.

PSE will keep you updated should more information about his health become available.
