On Friday, December 21, Michigan quarterback Shea Patterson announced that he will not attend the NFL Draft this spring in order to return to Ann Arbor for his final year of eligibility. Patterson, an Ole Miss transfer, led he Wolverines to a 10-2 record this season. Michigan will play in the Peach Bowl on December 29, against the University of Florida (9-3).
Following the season opening loss to Notre Dame (12-0), Michigan went on to win 10 straight games before losing to eventual Big 10 champion Ohio State (12-1) which knocked them out of the Big 10 title game and an opportunity for the College Football Playoff. This season, Patterson has thrown for 2,364 yards and 21 touchdowns to just five interceptions and will look to build on those numbers against the Gators in the Peach Bowl.
