University Of Miami coach Mario Cristobal announced Friday that offensive coordinator Josh Gattis has been relieved of his duties.

Miami’s offense was a massive disappointment in 2022. The Hurricanes finished just 5-7 in their first year under Cristobal.

Gattis is expected to collect a lucrative buyout from his early dismissal. He could a hot commodity in the college market.

Gattis left Michigan last February for Miami, after he won the Broyles Award as the nation’s top assistant coach in 2021, the same season the Wolverines captured a Big Ten championship and reached the College Football Playoff.

Before his time at Michigan, his first full-time role calling plays, Gattis served as receivers coach at Alabama, Penn State, Vanderbilt and Western Michigan.
