The Miami Dolphins have acquired disgruntled WR Chase Claypool in a trade with the Chicago Bears, as per Dianna Russini.
The Dolphins sent a 2025 sixth round draft pick for Claypool and a 2025 seventh round draft pick. The Bears acquired Claypool in a trade last season with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The trade comes after Claypool was a healthy scratch for the second time in five days. The Bears won their first game of the season with a 40-20 win over the Washington Commanders last night.
Claypool spent less than a year with the Bears, he ended up playing 10 games in Chicago over two seasons, totaling 18 receptions for 191 yards and one touchdown.
The 25 year-old Claypool was a second round pick by the Steelers in the 2020 NFL draft out of Notre Dame.
Claypool’s best season was his rookie year in 2020. He had 62 catches for 873 yards and 9 touchdowns.
