Mayfield Signs 4 Year Contract With Atlanta Falcons @atlantafalcons

Written by Chris Powers

It is safe to say that there has never been an NFL off-season like there has been in 2022. The drama with the Cleveland Browns has been at the front of the drama, in regards to the signing of DeShaun Watson as the new starting quarterback for the organization. Since the Browns did in fact sign Watson, many have been left wondering, what is next for Baker Mayfield?

There have been rumors that Baker would end up signing with Seattle, as the Seahawks recently traded long time starting quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos. There was also rumors that Mayfield could end up in Carolina, but it now appears that the Panthers are going to end up drafting a quarterback in the first round of the NFL Draft next week.

The New Orleans Saints were an option, but they ended up signing Jameis Winston to a long term deal. The Washington Commanders already signed Carson Wentz, and the Indianapolis Colts recently acquired Matt Ryan from the Atlanta Falcons.

So what exactly is next for Baker Mayfield? Only time will tell where he ends up next.

In other NFL news, the Atlanta Falcons signed right tackle Jalen Mayfield to a four year deal in 2021 prior to the start of the season. While he is currently in his rookie deal, there has been discussion as to whether or not he will even be a Falcon for much longer. Mayfield was credited for giving up 11 sacks to then quarterback Matt Ryan last season.
