Announced via Woods Brother Racing’s Twitter ya 9:00 AM Central this morning, Paul Menard will be stepping away from the team at the end of the 2019 season to retire from full-time racing and spend more time with his family. Menard will be replaced by the hottest free agent in NASCAR, the Italian Stallion, Matt DiBenedetto.
Here’s one you weren’t expecting:
Paul is stepping away from full time competition at the end of the season and @mattdracing will be taking over our @MenardsRacing @MQL_Racing Mustang, starting in 2020.

The #21 car is sponsored by Menard’s, the family business of Paul Menard.
It was announced a few weeks ago that DiBenedetto would lose his ride in the #95 car of Leavine Family Racing.
DiBenedetto’s reaction was extremely grateful, per usual:
I don’t even have the words to describe how thankful I am!! Paul is such a great guy and I’m lucky to call him a friend and I wish him the best! So excited to take over and drive for one of the most legendary teams in NASCAR next year! I have so many people to thank!!!! 🥳 https://t.co/qJy1kcpV10
