Eric Weddle hasn’t played football in over two seasons. But the former Pro Bowl safety is coming back to the NFL.
Weddle is coming out of retirement and will sign with the Los Angeles Rams for their playoff run.
With the injury to Jordan Fuller, the Rams had a need for safety depth and Weddle became their guy to sign.
When last in the NFL in 2019 for the Rams, Weddle had 108 total tackles. Now that he’s coming back from two years off from playing, it’ll be curious to see how the now 37-year-old can handle playing, although he won’t have the wear and tear on his body like a lot of players have from the duration of the season.
The Rams will play the Arizona Cardinals on Monday night in the opening round of the playoffs.
