Lions Draft Jackson State’s James Houston

Written by Nate

The Detroit Lions were not done with adding depth to their defensive line and linebacking corps in the NFL draft this year.

At pick #217, the Lions selected outside linebacker/edge rusher James Houston out of Jackson State University in Mississippi.

After being coached in college by NFL Hall of Famer ‘Prime Time’ Deion Sanders, Houston is set to join a defense that is continuing to improve on both the linebacker position and edge rushers.

Along with veterans Romeo and Julian Okwara, Michael Brockers, Levi Onwuzurike, Alim McNeill, and Austin Bryant, James will be joining second overall pick Aiden Hutchinson and second-round pick Josh Paschal on the defensive line for this upcoming season.
