With only two weeks left until the 2022 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions are continuing to add on to depth to their defense—specifically to their secondary.

And per a tweet by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, safety DeShon Elliott has signed with Detroit to a one-year deal.

The former Texas Longhorn and Baltimore Ravens sixth round pick is coming off a season where he was a starter for the injury-ravaged secondary, until he got put on injured reserve (IR) halfway through the 2021 season.

Elliott comes to Detroit with only seven pass deflections and one interception in his career thus far. He also has two forced fumbles and 109 total tackles recorded heading to the 2022 season.

The former Raven will join a young, but improving secondary that will field cornerbacks Amani Oruwariye, Jeff Okudah, Jerry Jacobs, AJ Parker, Mike Hughes and safeties Tracy Walker, CJ Moore and Will Harris.
