Philadelphia Phillies senior advisor to the general manager Larry Bowa expects Bryce Harper to return to the lineup before he is expected date of around the All-Star break in July.
“I’ve been watching Harp,” Bowa said Tuesday on the 94WIP Morning Show. “They can erase that date they put on for him. That’s no inside information, that’s just my opinion.”
Morning Show host Joe DeCamara asked if he’s thinking early to mid June and Bowa made a face indicating he believes that is a possibility.
Bowa made it clear this is just his opinion and not based on any inside information.
Harper is ahead of schedule in his recovery from Tommy John surgery. He is swinging now. When Harper returns, he will be the DH.
Phillies GM Dave Dombrowski says they are not placing Bryce Harper on the 60-Day IL, which means there’s a possibility he could come back before May 29th.
