The Philadelphia Eagles have announced Lane Johnson as their nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award.
The award recognizes an NFL player for outstanding community service activities off the field, as well as excellence on the field.
Johnson is the best right tackle in the NFL. He has been named to four Pro Bowls (2018, 2019, 2020, 2023) and is a three-time Associated Press All-Pro (2017, 2021, 2022).
The Eagles selected Johnson with fourt overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. He one a Super Bowl Championship in 2017. It was the first Super Bowl title in team history.
Johnson is an advocate for mental health. He was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder in 2008. Johnson revealed his condition in 2021.
As a nominee for the national award, Lane will wear a Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year helmet decal through the end of the season in recognition of his accomplishments on and off the field.
