Kid Wears a ’Sell the Team’ Shirt While Taking Pic with Bob Nutting, Owner of the Pittsburgh Pirates

Written by Nate

This season, the Pittsburgh Pirates have been middling around the third and fourth place spots in the NL Central standings, and their fans haven’t been too pleased with how ownership hasn’t done much to change their direction.

However, one of the Pirates fans is letting their principal owner, Bob Nutting, hear their frustration (in shirt form) as one kid came up for a picture with the owner in an Instagram video posted by popular YouTuber, WWE personality and Pittsburgh sports fan Pat McAfee.

The words the kid had on his shirt with Nutting? ‘Sell the Team.’

That’s what most fans call ‘pure savagery’ towards one of the cheapest owners through all of baseball history per a 2011 story by the Bleacher Report.

Pittsburgh last made the playoffs in 2015 with a Wild Card game berth, but their fans want more change and spending to help build around their core players such as Ke’Bryan Hayes and Bryan Reynolds.

Hopefully once he sees the shirt more closely, he can take charge in doing that. Don’t hold your breath though.
